The Gannet

This stunning modern restaurant offers its mezzanine level for private events of up to 14 guests for events (except on Friday and Saturday nights). Co-owned by two chefs, it’s hardly surprising this foodie destination has 3 AA rosettes and a listing in the Michelin Guide. Private events are offered the seasonal six course tasting menu of local modern Scottish cooking which changes regularly to use the best produce available. Priced at £45 per person, they also offer wine pairings on request. There’s no room hire or minimum spend and the rustic wood and exposed brick walls are given a modern slant with exposed lightbulbs and décor that means it’s as popular for personal celebrations and private parties as it is for business groups.

Ox and Finch

With a clutch of awards and a Michelin bib gourmand to its name, the Ox and Finch has a self-contained private dining room on the lower ground floor with stunning wood panelling and wooden flooring that can host from 10-14 guests. Parties can choose from the a la carte on the night making it a brilliantly flexible venue for personal celebrations, birthdays, meetings and weddings. There’s no minimum spend or room hire, so costs are just food and drink, around £30-£35 a head – with guests able to enjoy the sharing plate, modern international cuisine and informal style. There are also full vegetarian, vegan and children’s menu options available.

Hotel du Vin

This fabulous hotel boasts a prime location on Devonshire Gardens and offers three private rooms for between 10 to 80 guests. The intimate Glengoyne Room seats just 10, while the Glenlivet and Ardbeg Rooms seat 50 and 18 respectively or 80 combined (120 standing). With natural daylight coming from two bay windows and a multitude of original features, these are fabulous rooms, with the Glengoyne room also boasting French doors and an outdoor terrace. Townhouse 5 can also be taken over exclusively, complete with 12 guest rooms. The hotel’s classic bistro style is offered for private dining with menus starting at around £19 per person.

Blythswood Square

In the heart of Glasgow, on the historic Blythswood Square, this eponymous five star hotel offers six flexible meeting spaces for small gatherings or larger events up to 120 guests. Rooms boast top tech, with in-house AV (& support), a 40-seat screening room ideal for screenings and presentations as well making a great location for luxurious private get togethers and glamorous drinks receptions. The iconic building also offers the Monte Carlo suites, stunning oak-panelled events spaces with flexible room layouts and a bespoke 52 seater wooden table. The venue is also ideally located to host wedding breakfasts for up to 80 and a marquee in the Square can be arranged on request. Menus are offered at £50, £55 and £65 for a three course meal including coffee and petit fours, while canape options start at £15.50 per person.

Brian Maule at Chardon D’or

The restaurant of one of the UK’s top tier chefs, Brian Maule, the former head chef of the Roux brothers’ iconic two Michelin starred restaurant, Le Gavroche, is making waves back home and has just won the Scottish Licencsed trade news for fine dining for the fourth year running. Spread over two floors, the restaurant prides itself on its versatility. Private functions from 6 to 60 can be held downstairs in three rooms that can be opened into one and have access to a private bar area, while larger events are offered the main dining room as an exclusive hire. There’s no room hire charge, just a minimum spend dependent on the time and date of event, while menus are all bespoke. Offering fine French influenced dining using Scottish ingredients, the ambience is elegant yet relaxed. The restaurant also offers wine matching, working lunches and has full AV facilities, a smart TV and can provide a dance floor, DJ or sonos links for music.

The Two Fat Ladies Buttery

One of Glasgow’s best-known restaurants and taken over in 2007 by the Two Fat Ladies, this fabulously warm and traditional institution has two intimate private dining rooms for 8 or 10 guests. There’s no room hire or minimum spend and guests can choose the a la carte menu or the pre-theatre menu at lunch or dinner and all day Sundays. Prices start at £17.50 for two courses at lunch, rising to £23 for three for dinner. Food is modern Scottish in style with a seafood accent. They also offer an occasional room deal with the private rooms where canapes, arrival drinks and meal are offered for a fixed price of £35 per person based on a booking of eight guests. La Lanterna

From the owners of the oldest Italian restaurant in the city to the creators of best newcomer for 2017, La Lanterna in the west end is a stunning new addition to Glasgow’s culinary scene. Located directly opposite Central station, this stunning whitewashed and pale blue-hued modern Italian eatery has an elegant private dining room downstairs for up to 16 guests and a multitude of menu options. Lunch menus start at just £12.95 for two courses, or pre-theatre menus for £14.95 (not available at weekends), while parties can also opt for the a la carte. There’s no minimum spend or room hire, bookings are just subject to availability.

Mother India

Originally opened in 1996, this multi award-winning restaurant is an established part of Glasgow’s culinary landscape. The recent addition of a private dining room means there are now three distinct floors in which to enjoy their traditional northern Indian cuisine. The very popular Cellar room seats up to seven guests in retro 80s surrounds complete with an old Glaswegian lamp for authenticity. Frequently used for family get togethers, hen nights and business dinners, the room is versatile, with guests able to choose from the a la carte menu on the night or from the great value £25 set menu which also includes tea and coffee. There’s no room hire or minimum spend charge and guests can even bring their own wine for a very reasonable corkage (wine £3.50/sparkling £6.50).

Alchemilla

This bright, fun and modern restaurant has been listed in the Michelin Guide for the second year running and offers a private room that can seat up to 16 guests. The head chef and co-owner trained with Ottolenghi so it’s little surprise that the menu is highly seasonal featuring modern international cuisine with Mediterranean leanings and mostly gluten free. Guests in the private room can choose from the a la carte sharing menu and order sharing plates together or separately, with dishes arriving when they are ready. Ideal for parties, celebrations, staff night’s out and business meals, there’s no room hire or minimum spend, but there is a £5 per person deposit required to book the room that’s redeemed against the final bill.
