Engel and Jang

Engel Bar and Engel Live’s luxurious interiors, designed by Karen Taylor of Pattern Haus, pay homage to the opulent age of art deco with a blend of sumptuous textures and detailed craftsmanship.

Bespoke menus can be curated either by our team or our Korean-Japanese sister restaurant Jang, and live music is also available on request.

Overlooking the courtyard and façade of the Royal Exchange, each of our spaces offer guests a spectacular view of the historic building. It is the perfect setting for special celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries, as well as corporate events from team socials to client entertaining.

On Wednesdays and Thursdays, Engel Live comes alive with entertainment influenced by the cabaret scene.

Private Dining at Engel Live

Our entertainment lounge can be transformed into an elegant private dining area for events and parties, for up to 50 seated or 100 standing.

The room nods to the glamour of the 20s with a colour palette of deep reds and champagne gold, with a flexible layout lending to groups of more intimate tables or long, banquet-style communal tables.

Here we offer menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks reception events.

Events at Engel Bar 

Centred around a circular bar finished with polished brass and black and gold marble, Engel is arranged with intimate seating areas featuring velvet couches and wing-back chairs with nostalgic prints reflecting the vibrancy of the era it draws inspiration from.

The space can hold up to 150 guests standing with soft seating.
